Review:

Tim: This is a terrible movie. Strange Days is pretentious pile of crap that needs to be forgotten as soon as possible. Shame on James Cameron for writing this putrid stinker, and damn him for allowing this film to run almost two and a half hours. It is one thing to waste an hour and a half of my life on a futuristic pile of garbage, but this is a crime that should be punishable by the maximum amount allowed. How dare this film pretend to be some ultra cool look at the future. This is a bad movie that tries to mask its inadequacies by sleight of hand tricks and the like.

I completely understand how the rest of the cast got involved in this film, but what was Ralph Fiennes thinking? He is too good an actor to be pulled into such filth. Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, and Tom Sizemore have sunk into the depths of bad films multiple times, but Fiennes is better than this. Oh, and Angela Bassett, please don't ever act again, because you are terrible.

I'll admit I do like the concept behind the "drug of the future," being the ability to wire yourself into someone else's life and experiences for a short period of time. Unfortunately, a ridiculous story is wrapped all around his good concept, and we can see right through the ridiculousness and have no problem identifying this movie for what it is- a miserable waste of our time. I can almost taste the vanity of Cameron as he penned this, trying to write the next great futuristic sci-fi movie, like his Terminator films. That is why the cast jumped on board. I can only hope they got a big paycheck, because that'll be the only redeeming aspect of the movie for them.
