Review:

Tim: The Sixth Sense is perhaps the greatest ghost movie ever filmed. It is easily the smartest of the lot and one of the most thrilling in recent memory.

M. Night Shyamalan directs a creepy, intense thriller that will not leave you for a long time afterwards. He directs with such intelligence and precision- every frame of the film is evidence that this man is a genius and will have a distinguished career in movies.

Bruce Willis headlines the film, giving a restrained, superb performance. He is aided by Haley Joel Osment, who gives a simply outstanding performance. His "I see dead people" line is delivered so chillingly that we'll never get that scene out of our minds. It is sad that the line has now become fodder for spoof movies and jokes, but it is important to remember that we when first heard those words, they scared the hell out everyone.

The Sixth Sense is so excellent because just when we think we have a grasp on the movie, Shyamalan pulls off one of the greatest twists in movie history. We are totally unprepared and left reeling from the blow. It is then that we realize how truly incredible this movie is.

I personally would probably have liked the movie more, but some jerk revealed the ending to me before I saw the film. I want to take a minute to stress how important it is to never, never, never, never, ever reveal the ending of a movie to anyone. I don't care how amazing it was or how badly you want someone to share in the moment- have them see the movie first and then discuss later. Nothing is as bad as having a great movie ruined by some blabber mouth.

Anyway, The Sixth Sense is a masterpiece/landmark of a film that represents the best a director can accomplish. I highly, highly recommend seeing this movie.
