Summary: A Shaolin master wants to spread his martial arts to a wider audience, so he enlists the help of several shaolin experts to form a soccer team, using their martial arts skills to change the game.

Review:

Tim: This is an incredible concept- take all the amazing special effects martial arts moves from films like The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and apply those skills to the soccer field. This makes for an entertaining film.

The shaolin/soccer moves are truly something to behold. There is something about someone flying through the air and then kicking a soccer ball into a fireball, that makes you stand up and pay attention. Sure, the movie is ridiculous, but it is pure eye candy and a lot of fun to watch.

One aspect of the film that I didn't expect was how funny it is. The humor is top notch throughout, and suprisingly hilarious. I laughed out loud more times than I have in a long while.

The movie is definitely not American, but it is done so well that you won't mind reading the subtitles. Shaolin Soccer is entertaining and very fun. You might have to go out of your way to get a copy, but see it no matter the expense.
