Review:

Tim: Steven Spielberg spent over ten years preparing for this film. It is definitely his masterpiece and stands alone from his other films. It is a very real and gruesome film that pulls no punches in its portrayal of the Holocaust. In a stroke of genius, Spielberg films his movie in black and white. This creates a look and feel that cannot be made any other way. I shudder to think of watching the film in color. This way is how it is supposed to be.

For his film, Spielberg went out and got some of the best actors in the world. Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, and Ralph Fiennes are about as good an acting trio as you can find. Neeson and Fiennes both received Academy Award nominations and Kingsley easily would have deserved a nomination as well.

Schindler's List is a powerful, emotional story about one of the most ghastly crimes in human history. Every scene shows us the care and soul Spielberg put into making this film. It is his testament to the world and we are all so much better for seeing this movie. I wish all movies were half as good as this one.
