Summary: The cast from the original is back again. The sequel finds them all at college. A college professor (Tim Curry) plans a trip for them all to spend a weekend at a haunted house... why? No clue. Scary stuff happens, and the plot unravels... but not in a good way.

Review:

Tim: The first thing to mention is that I hated Scary Movie. I hated this film too, only, not as much. The film focuses entirely too much on paroding other films: The Exorcist, Hannibal, Charlie's Angels, Poltergeist, Hollow Man, The Haunting, House on Haunted Hill, and Raging Bull, just to name a few.

This film does not work on so many different levels. The characters have no depth, and are incredibly predictable. The plot is...incredibly disjointed, oftentimes making no sense, and simply painful to watch if you have any knowledge of films whatsoever (hell, if you've seen Bambi, you can figure out there are problems with the plot). The jokes are for the most part, gross, and wholly not funny. While it is amusing to see how this film rips off many, many other films, in the end, the amusement does not suffice.

There are several positives to this film, however. First, is that it is relatively short, only wasting about an hour and a half of your life. Secondly, the opening scene parody of The Exorcist, with James Woods as the priest is absolutely hilarious. Woods is excellent in his role, and provides the most memorable aspect of the film. Secondly, Chris Elliot's role as the caretaker with one shriveled hand is actually really, really, funny... in a gross kind of way. These three things save the film from a muc worse fate. Other than these few things, this movie just downright stints.

And you know what makes me really upset? The immature and unintelligent masses will eat this film up, just like they did to the asinine first one, bring it loads of success, so the Wayans will decide to make this godawful series into a trilogy, which means sooner or later, I'm going to have to watch the third one, hate it just as much if not more than the first two, and waste more of my life viewing and thinking about that one. Thanks kiddies... thanks a lot. Do me a favor, if you have any intelligence or self respect whatsoever, don't see this film.
